| WHAT WE TEACH We offer Western, English (hunt seat including jumping) and easy-gaited riding, beginner to advanced lessons. We also take interested and qualified students to local hunter shows. Our focus is NATURAL HORSEMANSHIP and we subscribe to methods used by Clinton Anderson and Parelli Natural Horsemanship, though we ARE NOT ENDORSED by these trainers in any way. Click here to go to their websites to learn more about their methods: Clinton Anderson Parelli GROUP LESSONS Unless otherwise requested and scheduled, all lessons are group lessons. This helps make riding lessons more affordable for you. Students also get the same amount of time with the horse that they would get with private lessons. Beginner's Focus: SAFETY, SAFETY, SAFETY…general horse knowledge; grooming; understanding and communicating with the horse; horse handling and safety on the ground; safety and balance in the saddle; general recreational riding skills. We will cover the walk, trot, and canter, as students are ready. Advanced lessons will also be available for students who have the ability level to qualify. Lessons will include at least 15 minutes of groundwork with the horse per week. It's important to “Do your ground work first, so you don't end up ON the ground.” |
